Crypto-grade fair randomness.How it works
What is the Random Number Generator?
A random number generator returns one or more numbers from a range you choose, with every value equally likely. It is the workhorse randomizer: pick a winner, draw lottery numbers, choose a random index, or sample values for a simulation. This generator lets you set any minimum and maximum, produce a batch of numbers at once with or without duplicates, sort the results, and instantly see their sum and average. Built-in lottery presets match popular draws, and because the numbers come from cryptographic randomness there is no detectable pattern or bias.
How to use the random number generator
- Set the minimum and maximum values for your range.
- Choose how many numbers to generate.
- Decide whether duplicates are allowed and whether to sort the output.
- Press Generate to produce the numbers.
- Read the sum and average, then copy or download the results.
Use cases
Prize draws and giveaways
Assign entrants a number and draw a winner fairly, or draw several unique winners at once.
Lottery numbers
Use presets or a custom range to pick sets of unique numbers for lottery-style games.
Sampling and research
Select random rows, participants, or indices for unbiased sampling.
Games and classrooms
Pick a random student, question, or turn order without favoritism.
Simulations
Feed reproducible random values into models, dice replacements, or procedural generation.
Frequently asked questions
What range can I use?
Any integer minimum and maximum you enter, including negative numbers.
Can I generate unique numbers only?
Yes. Turn off duplicates and each number in the batch will be distinct, as long as the range is large enough.
Does it show statistics?
Yes. The sum and average of the generated set are displayed automatically.
Are there lottery presets?
Yes. Presets set common ranges and counts so you can draw lottery-style number sets instantly.
Is it truly random?
It uses your browser's cryptographic random source with rejection sampling, which is unbiased across the range.
Can I sort the results?
Yes. Toggle sorting to display the numbers in ascending order.
